Es ist wirklich unglaublich schön, dass du hier bist.

Falls du uns noch nicht kennst: Wir sind Sarah & Steffen aus Köln Nippessippi. Wir kennen und lieben uns fast 20 Jahre, sind mittlerweile verheiratet und machen seit dem 1. Date gemeinsam Musik.

Unser Duo „Mrs.Greenbird“ ist 2010 entstanden. Den Namen haben wir einer netten, grünen Vogeldame zu verdanken, die eines Abends plötzlich vor unserer Haustür gelandet und leider verstorben ist. Sie flüsterte uns zu, dass wir nicht eher ruhen sollen, bis auch das letzte Ohr auf dieser Erde unsere wundersamen Lieder vernommen hat. Diesen Wunsch konnten wir ihr natürlich nicht abschlagen.

Unser Debütalbum war gleich 2 mal auf Platz 1 – noch vor Helene Fischer. Wir waren 2 mal für den Echo nominiert, haben eine goldene Schallplatte überreicht bekommen und diverse Awards erhalten u.a. für die beste Clubtour. Doch das ist uns alles nicht wichtig.
Unser erklärtes Ziel ist, die Welt mit jedem Akkord ein kleines bisschen besser zu machen.

Wir haben kein Management und keine Plattenfirma. Wir sind „Do It yourself artists“ und haben ehrlicherweise oft mehr Arbeit, als wir zu zweit leisten können, aber die unbändige Liebe zur Musik treibt uns an.

Obendrauf sind wir Eltern von 2 ziemlich verrückten Australien Shepherds namens Fritte und Floppy und den wundervollsten Kindern, die man sich nur wünschen kann. Wir nennen sie liebevoll Piepfried und Pieplinde. Keine Sorge, das sind Spitznamen.

Vor ein paar Jahren haben wir unser eigenes kleines Label namens „Greenbird Records“ gegründet, um unabhängig zu bleiben und Musik veröffentlichen zu können.
Unsere Songs schreiben und produzieren wir selbst.

Unser Stil lässt sich am ehesten mit Singersongwritercountryfolkpop, Ambientfolk oder Americana beschreiben.

Falls ihr mal reinhorchen mögt, empfehlen wir unsere letzten beiden Alben, da wir finden, dass sie am ehesten unserem aktuellen Sound entsprechen: „Love you to the bone“ und unsere Platte „Dark Waters“.
Sie sind mit sehr viel Liebe, Zeit und Herzblut entstanden.
Gibt’s kostenfrei überall, wo es Musik gibt zu hören. Wir verschicken unsere Alben aber auch liebevoll handverpackt und mit Luftkuss.

Mrs. Greenbird is a German indie-folkpop duo named after a dying parakeet. They started off as wedding singers in 2006 and toured for several years through German bars, restaurants and even laundromats all the way up to the famous Bluebird Café in Nashville, shaped their skills and build a rock solid fanbase. They had early success with no. 1 chart placements and golden records, but eventually turned their backs on the major music industry to focus solely on their music and their fanbase. They now run their own label called “Greenbird Records” and work as songwriters and producers for their own art and other artists. 

Their trademark sound: A lot of guitars, sometimes driving, sometimes spherical, weeping lap steels, a dreamy vintage piano, Sarah’s distinctive voice, playful and poetic lyrics and beautifully arranged close harmony vocals.
